Delilah Sews a Blanket

Over the past 4 to 5 months I have been muling over ideas for my next venture. I have always been interested in writing, even as a young child, but, I was stuck in the belief that people really didn't read anymore.

My children all had a thirst for reading when they were young, but, nothing really appealed to them long-term. I had, and still do, a love for fiction or 'based on a true story' writings. I have an immense amount of respect for the mind of a fictional writer who creates storylines and captivates audiences with characters and scenarios crafted from places and spaces in their minds.

After stepping away for a while, I decided to revisit the idea of teaching sewing to children, and to also put in in writing, making it accessible to children all over the world.

The 'Come Sew with Me' series features learning events through the lens of a young girl, Delilah, and the many things she learns to make. Next month, come with her as she meets Mrs. Jackson during Career Day at Thompson Elementary school in the historic Acres Homes Community. Mrs. Jackson gave Delilah and her 1st Grade class step by step instructions on making a comfortable throw blanket.
